Quebec Goan Association(QGA): St. Francis Xavier's Feast December 4, 2010 SFX

Dear Members,

This is just a friendly reminder for the feast of St. Francis Xavier on December 4, 2010. The Mass is at 6.30pm sharp followed by the reception at the hall (around 7.30). There is a great evening of entertainment planned for you with delicious Goan food and music. The theme for this evening is to dress GOAN.

Regarding the Crowning of the QGA KING AND QUEEN  (18yrs and older) the only thing one has to do is to dress Goan (ie wear a saree, dress or a skirt/blouse and pants etc etc -  its simple - and you have to be able to say your name in Konkani and which part of Goa you come from. For example:  My name is Lovie and I come from Panjim. )(Mojem nanv Lovie ani muzo ganv Ponje zanv asa) thats all you have to speak. That is all thats required for you to win the title for the KING or QUEEN.

For the PRINCE and PRINCESS (17yrs and younger) you DONT have to speak Konkani. Just say your name in ENGLISH - thats all. Its that easy. There are beautiful banners and crowns and prizes for this event.  It will be a nice remembrance to have this title on the Feast day.

Come and celebrate the feast.
